A partir du livre qui l'a révélé, Sol absolu (1972), ensemble des cent vingt éléments d'un poème unique à lire comme naissance de l'auteur grâce à un voyage qui fut "séjour" oriental sans orientalisme, nous analyserons les relations de cet auteur contemporain au monde de la Méditerranée des deux rives et aux déserts. Par ancrage dans un déploiement comme originel de la matière-esprit qui serait aussi l'orient d'une pratique de l'écriture, l'auteur aborde l'altérité dans un contexte post-moderne et interculturel, tient le discours d'un voyageur devenu résident, inscrivant un "non-ailleurs" pour notre temps où il n'y aurait aucune invention de l'espace par le littéraire, mais un espace qui serait "genèse" continuée et, de ce fait, métonymie d'une certaine écriture poétique liée intrinsèquement aux exigences d'un nouvel humanisme.
"The Conquests of an Oriental Journey as entry into poetic discourse" (Lorand Gaspar in the Sahara, Tunisia, the Near East and Central Asia)" We shall base our discussion on the work which earned this author his reknown, Sol absolu (1972), a collection of one hundred and twenty fragments of a unique poem, representing the author's literary birth founded on a journey which can be seen as an eastern "sojourn" bereft of orientalist traits. It will help us analyse the relationship of this contemporary writer to both shores of the Mediterranean as well as to its deserts. The poet anchors his original developments into mind-and-matter reflections which could be compared to an "oriental extreme" of writing. This approach enables the author to treat the theme of "otherness" within a post-modern inter-cultural context. He also holds forth a discourse belonging to the traveller turned resident, fashioning a "utopia" for our times, one in which, precisely, literature is unable to invent a space ; a new spatial dimension thus, which could constitute a protracted genesis, and become metonymy for poetic writing intrinsically linked to the challenges spelt out by new humanism.
